i’m lazy, so i shall do this all in one sitting.Day 01- When and why you started riding
I was in 6th grade, didn’t have many friends, but I met a girl who’s parents owned a barn. Also, my best friend had been riding for a few years. I had only ridding like twice before that at birthday parties and girl scouts, but I loved it.
Day 02- The last time you rode a horse and what you did
It was a few years ago. I had been riding this horse, Star, and she was my best friend. I actually stopped riding because the owner of the barn sold her without even telling anyone. I showed up for my lesson, and Star was gone. I had to ride Jaxs, my least favorite horse there (he bites and bucks A LOT). I was just so fed up, we didn’t do much. After that, I never went back.
Day 03- A video of your best riding
I never took a single video or picture of Star and me, and I regret it deeply.
Day 04- A ride that impacted your life
My best friend Madison and I were at a camp at my barn, and on the second day, the owner announced that a new horse would be arriving that day. It was Star, and everyone was afraid to ride her. Everyone but me. It was the start of a beautiful bond between us.
Day 05- Your first fall
Actually, I’ve never fallen off (knock on wood!). I’ve had horses rear on me a lot, tho.
Day 06- All the tack and riding clothes you have (brand/color/other details)
I don’t own anything. I’ve done one show in my life because the owner refused to take us to any. Then when we went to that show, it was casual western attire. I also don’t own a horse or tack.
Day 07- Your favorite ribbon won at a show and why
I got a trophy from the one Trot Keyhole I competed in. I was the only one to win that day, and it was stinkin’ awesome.
Day 08- A little about the barn/stable you ride at
I haven’t started riding at my new barn yet, but I visited it once. It is AMAZING, so much better than my old barn. Its huge, professional and has a breeding program. I’m so excited :)
Day 09- Any injuries that occurred from riding
I’ve gotten some really big bruises on my butt from a mini I used to lead for a children’s program. Ugh. Jaxs also broke my toe(s) because he’s fat and stepped on me.
Day 10- How your family/friends feel about your riding
My sisters think it’s gross, my mom is supportive and my dad couldn’t care less. A lot of the people I talk to have either ridden in the past, or do now. I guess that’s a plus of living in the MidWest.
Day 12- Favorite horse color
I’m a fan of dapple grey.
Day 13- A video of your worst riding
psssst. look at day 3.
Day 14- Your dream barn/farm
Somewhere big, that has all different breeds of horses, ponies and minis. that includes drafts. The big boys are my favorite.
Day 15- If you could speak to any horse, dead or alive, what would you say?
I’d tell her thank you. Thank you for everything.
Day 16- Your most recent fall
doesn’t exist (yet)
. Day 17- Your equestrian idol
Anyone who sticks with it and does it for the right reasons.
Day 18- Your grooming routine
soft bristle brush the face - curry comb - brush dirt off - soft brush on the legs - mane, tail - hooves - double check - tack
Day 19- A discipline you would like to do that you’ve never done before
Hunter/Jumper, dressage, anything English really. I’m more into Western.
Day 20- Your favorite horse show
Day 22- The importance of riding in your life
It’s my break from the week. When I get to the barn, all my troubles dissappear. The horses don’t care about drama, boy troubles, or family issues. They just want to ride.
Day 24- Your best riding friend
Madison or Amy. Amy is the one who really got me into riding. Madison was my best friend who just happened to ride/own horses.
Day 25- Your dream trailer
big enough, with enough storage. also has to be comfortable for the horses.
Day 26- Biggest riding pet peeve
When people criticize you or your horse. I’ll ride my way, you can ride your way.
Day 27- You know your an equestrian when….. (Give 5 original ones)
-a frog isn’t just an animal.
-boots are better than heels.
-you’d rather smell like dirt and poop than perfume.
-you know people by their horse.
-shows aren’t just something you watch on tv.
Day 28- Helmet or no helmet?
depends on the style/speed I’m riding at.
Day 29- A style/trend in tack/riding apparel that you don’t like
super girly, too much frills, too busy.
Day 30- Your Future With Horses
I’d like to do something in Hippotherapy or be in a show like Arabian Knights :)
